NerdWallet saw financial misinformation spreading across FinTok and IG and wanted to take quick action to combat this consumer tension. What better way to “tune out the mis-information” than with the king of auto-tune, six-time Grammy award winner T-Pain.

We identified the worst offenders of financial mis-information on TikTok and made 4 videos calling them out. Both NerdWallet and T-Pain posted them.
We kept production very lo-fi so as to feel native to the platforms.
One thing I liked most was how Morgan’s lyrics kept a playful and optimistic tone to calling out the mis-information (in keeping with NerdWallet’s brand voice) — as opposed to spreading more negativity by trolling.
The project earned NerdWallet 4.2 million views, 125,000 impressions but more important: T-Pain called out some of the worst offenders of financial mis-information.
